Robert Foley

Bob Foley is a South Dakota native, retired transportation and logistics professional, and dedicated community volunteer. After a career that included serving as owner and president of Piedmont Circulation Service, he returned to his hometown of Tyndall, where he resides in a home built in 1880 by one of the community's founders.

Foley has a deep interest in regional history, particularly the fur trade, the steamboat era, and South Dakota's pre-statehood years. He is Secretary/Treasurer of the Bon Homme Heritage Association and Memorial Church Museum, where he helps preserve and share the stories of the people and events that shaped the region.

His community involvement also includes serving as Secretary of the NAPA-to-Platte Rail-to-Trail Committee, Treasurer of the Friends of the Missouri National Recreational River, Secretary/Treasurer of Tyndall's Main Street Market, and a board member of the South Dakota Canoe and Kayak Association. He is also a Faith Formation instructor at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and an occasional substitute teacher in the Bon Homme School District.

A graduate of the University of South Dakota with studies in business and history, Foley believes the successes and challenges of earlier generations offer valuable lessons in resilience, innovation, and community stewardship that remain relevant today.
