Boots and bylines was published posthumously by the Custer County Chronicle (1978) . These are poems and letters from his later life which had appeared in the pages of this newspaper during his lifetime, but had not been included in Skylines and Woodsmoke. They provide a window into the times and activities of his last twenty years.
