Authors Marcus Witcher & Dave Beito, "Rose Lane Says: Thoughts on Liberty, Race and Equality, 1942-1945" will present.

Rose Wilder Lane, daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder, was an accomplished writer and national personality for much of the 20th century. Among her publications was a column titled "Rose Lane Says," which ran from 1942 to 1945 in the Pittsburgh Courier, the nation's largest circulating African American newspaper at the time. These columns are all but impossible to locate. Thanks to historians David Beito and Marcus Witcher, that is no longer the case. Their forthcoming book offers a collection of 84 annotated columns, along with an excellent introduction to Lane and her thoughts on race, liberty, and equality. Join us for a free virtual discussion on Rose Wilder Lane and her Pittsburgh Courier columns for June's History Talks!
