Annual Valentines Make & Take featuring SDSU ice cream at Cultural Heritage Center on Sunday, Feb. 4

Museum Activity Day returns to the Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre on Sunday, Feb. 4.

Visitors can create their own 3-D Valentine ornaments and enjoy some SDSU ice cream from 1-4 p.m. CST. All supplies are provided for free and there is no admission fee to the museum during the event.

“This is always a fun day at the museum, and this is the sixth annual Valentines Museum Activity Day,” said museum director Jay Smith. “Museum Activity Day is a good way to fight off cabin fever and get out of the house for a while. And SDSU ice cream is a real treat no matter how cold it gets outside.”

Visitors can also check out the new “Spirit of the 70s” exhibit in the museum galleries. They can try out their disco moves on the dance floor, listen to the Watergate hearings or create their own 70s kitchen with avocado green, burnt orange or harvest gold appliances.

Regular museum hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. CST Monday-Saturday and 1-4:30 p.m. CST on Sundays. There is normally a small admission fee for adults, but children 17 and younger always get in free.
