Brenda Donelan to speak to History and Heritage Book Club

The History and Heritage Book Club will not be meeting at its usual date in October. We encourage everyone to attend events this weekend (Oct. 10-12) welcoming the Sioux Horse Effigy back to the Cultural Heritage Center. There is a schedule of events at www.history.sd.gov

We’ll be welcoming back Brenda Donelan to speak to the book club at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the

Cultural Heritage Center. She’ll be discussing her newest book, “Murder to Go.” It’s the third in University Mystery series. In it, murder accompanies criminology professor Marlee McCabe on a field trip.

Brenda grew up on a cattle ranch in Stanley County. Her parents are Larry and Patty Donelan. This is Brenda’s third time speaking to the History and Heritage Book Club, and her discussion of her characters and writing process is always insightful.

All three of Brenda’s books, “Day of the Dead,” “Holiday Homicide” and “Murder to Go,” are available at the Heritage Store at the Cultural Heritage Center. Book club members receive a 10 percent discount, and South Dakota State Historical Society member receive an additional 5 percent discount when you purchase book club selections at the Heritage Store.
