Pegie Douglas will present “The Life and Music of Badger Clark, South Dakota’s first Poet Laureate”

Pegie Douglas of Custer will present “The Life and Music of Badger Clark, South Dakota’s first Poet Laureate” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the Cultural Heritage Center.

Douglas will interweave the story of Clark’s life with 12 of his poems that have been set to music. Clark served as South Dakota’s poet laureate from 1937 to 1957. His books are available at the Heritage Store at the Cultural Heritage Center and the Capitol.
